About Us

Merlin (Owner) and a Northern Pike

Testing the waters (:

The Fishing

A Magical River

Welcome to the Geikie, a picturesque river cutting through the untouched northern wilderness. Around every bend, Walleye and Northern Pike wait in abundance, while the rapids hold roaming Arctic Grayling and giant Pike lurk in the depths. A short portage above the second set of rapids leads you to a secluded lake set against a striking sand esker. There, you can cast across expansive shallow pike flats, jig the deep waters for Lake Trout, or reel in endless Walleye.  The river is as alive above the water as it is below. Moose, bear, caribou, beaver, otter, wolf, and pine marten are all part of the landscape—you never know what wildlife encounter awaits. With Lost River Camp holding exclusive outfitting rights, you won’t see another lodge boat during your stay—just you, the river, and the wilderness.

The Lodge

This is Livin'

In 2021, Merlin purchased Lost River Camp with a clear vision: to create one of the most sought-after fishing destinations in Northern Saskatchewan. After years of dedicated work, that vision is well underway. The lodge has been fully renovated and now serves as a warm, welcoming gathering place for relaxed, sit-down meals and shared stories at the end of the day. Two brand-new guest cabins have been professionally designed, featuring vaulted ceilings, natural pine interiors, and expansive decks overlooking the secluded forest.

The vision continues to grow. In 2027, an outdoor spa experience will be added—complete with a wood-fired sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge. It will be the perfect place to unwind after a full day on the water, blending wilderness adventure with well-earned relaxation.

The Outpost

Off Grid Experience

We’re excited to now offer guests the opportunity to spend 2 nights of their 6-day trip at our new outpost on Duncan Lake. Accessible only by boat and quad, this remote retreat offers a truly off-grid wilderness experience.

Rustic and private, the outpost sits along sandy beaches with uninterrupted west-facing views—treating you to breathtaking sunsets each evening. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself even deeper in the north: two nights to unplug, explore new water, and experience the quiet solitude of a place few ever reach, before returning to the comfort of the main lodge.

The food

Quality Ingredients

We take pride in serving meals made with high-quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients. From cooking in real pork fat rather than seed oils, to featuring pastured pork and beef in our signature dinners, every detail reflects our commitment to flavour and quality. Breakfasts are made with organic farm eggs, setting the tone for a full day on the water.

And if you’re lucky, Merlin might even prepare his famous fresh ceviche right on the boat—an unforgettable afternoon snack enjoyed straight from the river itself.

The trip

Some Logistics

We offer 6-day trips with 4.5 days of fishing. Guests choose to either fly in via private charter from Saskatoon to Points North, where you will then be shuttled to the Lodge, or stay overnight in Prince Albert or La Ronge and drive in. Arrive at the Lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon of fishing. At Lost River Camp, the experience is private and personal, hosting small groups of 8 guests per trip. We run a guided operation, giving every two guests their personal guide for the River. We look forward to booking your next adventure!
